Meet the Team

Heather Gollyhorn

Founder

My approach lives at the intersection of strategic planning and emotional intelligence. I believe that numbers, systems, and action plans matter immensely, but they only work when they're anchored in self-awareness, values, and genuine human connection.

I don't believe in traditional business practices. As an entrepreneur of more than 30 years across several industries, I firmly believe that success isn't just about what you achieve, but who you become in the process. I listen deeply, ask the questions no one else is asking, and help build a roadmap that honors both ambition and humanity.

As the Founder of BK Family First, it is my honor to develop Supported Living Services that help individuals turn their "what ifs" into "what's next." Every client is a partner, and every partnership is an opportunity to make a lasting difference.

Keith Muwanguzi

Executive Director

Keith is an experienced human services executive with extensive experience in California's Supported Living Services (SLS). His career has progressed from Case Manager to Program Manager, providing comprehensive knowledge of person-centered planning, Regional Center collaboration, regulatory compliance, and high-quality services that empower individuals with developmental disabilities.

Throughout his leadership in Supported Living Services (SLS) and Independent Living Program (ILP) operations, Keith has overseen program development, staff supervision, quality assurance, policy implementation, budgeting, and operational management. His leadership is grounded in person-centered practices, continuous quality improvement, and full compliance with California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) standards and Regional Center requirements.

As Executive Director, Keith focuses on strengthening organizational performance, enhancing service quality, and building sustainable programs that deliver meaningful outcomes for individuals and their families.

Jamie Steele

Program Manager

My journey in Supported Living Services began not as a career choice, but as a way of life. At just ten years old, I grew up in residential care homes owned by my family, living alongside the individuals we supported. That experience taught me that meaningful care is built on compassion, respect, and the belief that everyone deserves a fulfilling life.

I carried those lessons into my professional career, serving as Program Manager for two Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs) and operating my own Supported Living Services program. Those experiences strengthened my leadership skills while overseeing daily operations, mentoring staff, and ensuring quality care.

As Program Manager, I am driven by two priorities:

Helping the individuals we serve achieve greater independence, community integration, and personal success through truly person-centered programs.
Supporting our caregivers by creating a culture of appreciation, ongoing training, and genuine support, because valued caregivers provide the highest quality care.

Who are the Case Managers

Case Managers are more than coordinators. They are advocates, mentors, and trusted partners committed to helping you achieve your goals.

Working alongside you, your family, the Regional Center team, medical providers, and other support professionals, your Case Manager coordinates person-centered services, connects you with community resources, monitors your progress, and advocates for your needs so you can live safely and independently.

Direct Support Professionals Who Walk Beside You

At BK Family First, our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are more than caregivers. They provide personalized, one-on-one support with daily living skills such as meal preparation, budgeting, household management, personal care, medication reminders, transportation, and community involvement.

Rather than doing things for you, they work alongside you to build confidence, independence, and the skills needed to achieve your goals.
